The Hike

From Beauty World MRT, walk along Upper Bukit Timah Road, passing Bukit Timah Nature Reserve’s entrance and towards Spruce Firestation. Cross the road and head up Lor Sesuai.

Enjoy a gruelling 350m climb to Bukit Batok WW2 Memorial. Finish the climb with 120 concrete steps to reach the highest point in Bukit Batok Nature Park. The top once housed Syonan Chureito but was destroyed by the Japanese at the end of the Japanese occupation to prevent desecration; it now house Mediacorp’s Bukit Batok Transmission Station. Take a well deserved break before heading off for the next part of the hike.

At the foot of the stairs, walk along the trail towards the Lookout Point at Bukit Batok Nature Park where Poh Kim Quarry is located. Poh Kim Quarry is one of the few quarries being extracted for granite before its closure in the late 1970s; the quarry and its surrounding area was then taken over by NParks and developed into what it is today.

Enjoy a walk around the park before heading along Jalan Jurong Kechil back to Beauty World MRT. Celebrate the end of your hike with a meal at Bukit Timah Market & Food Centre!
